No flash will usually carry this poor people and their problems. Extreme poverty is still a problem in india, even within the circle of The Capital city.

Dark life in capital city.

The familiar frames in Delhi thru films are rich and of a high class society. But there is another face for the capital city, like any other metropolitan city. A class of people who are unable to meet their bread in d night, who don't have a sheltor at all. Here is an example. The life of them are just like dis photo, no brightness until a flash is provided from outside.

കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബി യുടെ കയ്യിലുള്ള വനഭൂമിയില്‍ വന്‍ തോതില്‍ കയ്യേറ്റം

കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബി യുടെ കയ്യിലുള്ള മിച്ചം വനഭൂമിയില്‍ വന്‍ തോതില്‍ കയ്യേറ്റം നടക്കുന്നതായി കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബി രേഖകള്‍ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു.  ലോവര്‍ പെരിയാര്‍ ജലവൈദ്യുത പദ്ധതിക്ക് വേണ്ടി വനം വകുപ്പ് പാട്ടത്തിനു നല്‍കിയ 104 .25 ഹെക്ടര്‍ വനഭൂമിയില്‍ പദ്ധതി നടത്തിപ്പിന് ശേഷം മിച്ചം വന്ന 2585 .35 ഏക്കര്‍ അധിക വന ഭൂമിയിലാണ് കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുന്നത്.  കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബി ക്ക് പാട്ടത്തിനു നല്‍കിയ വനഭൂമികളില്‍ വന്‍ തോതില്‍ കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്ന പരാതി 'ഒരേ ഭൂമി ഒരേ ജീവന്‍ (ONE EARTH ONE LIFE)'  എന്ന പരിസ്ഥിതി സംഘടന വനം മന്ത്രി ശ്രീ.ബിനോയ്‌ വിശ്വത്തിന് നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു. ഈ വനഭൂമികള്‍ പാട്ടം റദ്ദാക്കി തിരിച്ചെടുത്ത് സംരക്ഷിക്കണമെന്നും വനം മന്ത്രിക്കു നല്‍കിയ പരാതിയില്‍ സംഘടന ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ശ്രീ. ബിനോയ്‌ വിശ്വം രണ്ട് വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പ് വിളിച്ചു ചേര്‍ത്ത പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ യോഗത്തിലാണ് 'വണ്‍ എര്‍ത്ത് വണ്‍ ലൈഫ്' ഈ പരാതി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍ നാളിതുവരെയായി കയ്യേറ്റം ഒഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനോ വനഭൂമി തിരിച്ചെടുത്തു സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനോ വനം വകുപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗത്ത്‌ നിന്നും കാര്യമായ നടപടികള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല.
ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ്  കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബി യുടെ കയ്യില്‍ മിച്ചമുള്ള വനഭൂമികളുടെ കണക്കും അതില്‍ കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അതിന്റെ വിവരവും നല്‍കാന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു വിവരാവകാശനിയമ പ്രകാരം സംഘടന അപേക്ഷ നല്‍കിയത്. അതിനുള്ള മറുപടിയിലാണ് 21470 സ്ക്വയര്‍ മീറ്റര്‍ സ്ഥലത്ത് കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുന്നതായി കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബി സമ്മതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. റിസര്‍ച്ച് & ഡാം സേഫ്റ്റി ഓര്‍ഗനൈസേഷന്‍ പബ്ലിക് ഇന്‍ഫോര്‍മേഷന്‍ ഓഫീസറാണ് വിവരം നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
ഇത് പ്രകാരം പദ്ധതി നടത്തിപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞും മിച്ചമുള്ള 2585 .35 ഏക്കര്‍ വനഭൂമിയില്‍ ഏറിയ പങ്കും കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങളുടെ പിടിയിലാണ്.  ഇത് സംസ്ഥാനം കണ്ട ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വനം കയ്യേറ്റങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണെന്ന് പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ പറയുന്നു.
"റവന്യു വകുപ്പിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന വനഭൂമി യഥാസമയം ഏറ്റെടുക്കാത്തതാണ് മൂന്നാറിലെ കയ്യേറ്റ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ നിയമക്കുരുക്കില്‍ കൊണ്ടെത്തിച്ചത്. ലോവര്‍ പെരിയാര്‍ പദ്ധതി മേഖലയിലെ വനപ്രദേശവും ഒഴിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ വൈകുന്തോറും പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ രൂക്ഷമാകുകയും വനത്തിലെ കോടിക്കണക്കിനു രൂപയുടെ മരങ്ങള്‍ കൊള്ളയടിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഉദ്ഘാടനങ്ങള്‍ നടത്താനല്ലാതെ, വനമേഖലയെ   ബാധിക്കുന്ന കാതലായ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളില്‍ മന്ത്രിക്കോ സര്‍ക്കാരിനോ താല്പര്യമില്ല.  കയ്യേറ്റത്തിനെതിരെ  കോടതിയെ സമീപിക്കാന്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുകയാണ് ഞങ്ങള്‍"  - വണ്‍ എര്‍ത്ത് വണ്‍ ലൈഫ് ലീഗല്‍ സെല്‍ ഡയരക്ടര്‍ ശ്രീ.ടോണി തോമസ്‌ പറഞ്ഞു .

500 acre missing in Munnar proposed Forest Notification!!

Given above is the RTI reply received from Munnar DFO. it is clear that, as per the govt order Go(ms)379/80/RD dated 19.09.80, revenue dept must hand over 17922 Acre forest land to forest department. But this land is neither with revenue department, nor with forest dept. Actually it is with the encroachers or tata.
Anyway, the proposed forest notification declared by state forest minister will cover only 17349 acre. (Read the minister's declaration in media). That is, instead of 17922 Acre, forest dept will now notify only 17349 acre. Deducting 500 acre from the notification, govt can help encroachers. Buildings and reports in Munnar town including Party officer will be saved through this deduction.
If govt failed to notify the full land, as per earlier govt order, it will nullify the proceedings. And encroachers can approach the high court to grand their right over the encroached land.
For saving the encroachers, officers are misguiding the minister and the govt to notify 17349 acre only. The missing 500 acre, there lies the real Munnar Politics.

Manorama gives wrong information about the Bt-brinjal.

Malayala Manorama daily published an article regarding the Bt-brinjal, in their edit page. the business interest is clear in the heading. Manorama is neither interested in the bio technology improvement nor worried about the health hazards. What ever happened, the are only interested to sell it. So it seems they are happy, as the Bt discussions getting hotter.
In the content, the article made 4 major factual mistakes/ given misleading information.
1.Bt-Brinjal is no where proved as it has increased productivity. It is not intended to increase production. Bt-brinjal is only intended to reduce the pesticide consumption. So it is clear that, the basic information given is false.
2. "Cost of agriculture will be reduced" is a false allegation, which is already proved by hundreds of farmers in Gujrath and Punjab. Cost of seed will increase enormously, as it is supplied by an MNC like Monsanto, which is only intended to make maximum profit. (For details, read articles of veteran genetic scientist Sri.Pushpa M Bhargava.)
3. GEAC has not approved any scientific reports that contains the impact of Bt-brinjal on human consumption. GEAC has not even considered any test reports made in this regard, as there is no scientific study that tested the long run impact of Bt-brinjal consumption.
4. The funniest, but important point is that, the article put forwards two options for us. To choose brinjal either which is polluted by pesticides or which is Genetically polluted by Bt bacteria. This is non-sense. Both this options are un-sustainable and dangerous to human beings.
Even though it seems partially true, the author is hiding the 3rd option, the only option for sustainable agriculture, that is Organic farming.
Media usually won't suggest a right track to its readers. Instead, they will confuse.

Anyway, Manorama has only one stand. Let anything happen, we must sell our paper..
